This scholarship is given to two students who demonstrate outstanding character, leadership, hard work, and volunteer work throughout their high school years.
Two scholarships $500 each.
The student with roots in India and living in Calgary and surrounding area must be a current graduating grade twelve student and plans to attend a post-secondary institution. The student will be someone who consistently demonstrates positive behaviours and habits.
Students may nominate themselves or be nominated by parents/friends.
Following must be included in the scholarship application package:

The nominee will upload this statement as part of the application process. The statements should include the following:
o Evidence of outstanding character connecting specifically to the core values of RANA.
o Evidence of how your outstanding character has made a positive influence on the lives of others.
Proof of roots in India meaning having parents or grandparents from India
(the selection committee may ask for a proof in case they feel it is necessary)
Students must provide two references (name and contact information).
These references could be teachers, coaches, adult supervisors or
mentors from the organization you work or volunteer at (no family members as references).
Selection The award winners will be selected by a selection committee. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selection Committee
The selection committee will comprise of 4 RANA members. The executive members or their family members will not participate in the selection process.
The committee will provide the names of the recipient to the executive committee by August 11.
Deadline Applications will be available online on July 1. The deadline to submit completed
scholarship form with documents is July 31. Send your completed application to

The selection and announcement of the recipient by August 16.
